CAMDEN -- Mrs. Sarah Carleton Helmer died Feb. 7, 1955, at her home, 4 Elm St., following a long illness.
She was born Mar. 6, 1876, in Town of Camden, daughter of John and Ellen Carleton Carleton. She was married to
Eugene Helmer on Sept. 13, 1894, in Camden. He died in 1935.
Mrs. Helmer was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Camden.
She was a life resident of Camden and lived for 42 years in the home where she died.
Surviving are one son, Kenneth Helmer, at home; one daughter, Mrs. Florence Curry, Watertown; two sisters, Mrs.
Merritt Babcock, McConnellsville; and Mrs. Tracy Yorton, Utica; two grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and
several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 2 tomorrow from the B.A. Sanborn & Son Funeral Home, with the Rev. George Stiegler, rector of
Trinity Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery in the spring.
