The mortal remains of Mrs. Nellie Clark were laid to rest in Oakwood cemetery, Wednesday afternoon of the present week. The suddenness of her death was a great surprise to her many relatives and friends as it was not supposed that she was dangerously sick. A young lady reared in our village greatly respected ab all, loved by those who were associated with her and idolized by parents and husband. Twenty-one years of age, she was taken in her youth, having only just reached the years of womanhood.
A large number of people attended the funeral, many friends and relatives from out of town being present. The Rev. C. O. Thatcher officiated and at the grave the members of the L.O.R. club to which Mrs. Clark had belonged, and the Alumni of the school each deposited in the open grave a small bouquet of flowers as a last fitting tribute of their love and regard for the deceased. An elegant arrangement of Flowers in the form of broken shaft was presented by the Alumni, a pillow of flowers containing the word Nellie was given by the L.O.R. club and a second floral pillow was given by George Walrath with an abundance of flowers from other friends. Mr. and Mrs. R. Walrath have lost an only and a dearly beloved child, and are left with a fond husband to mourn the loss of one who was so dear. The deep sympathy of the community is extended to the bereaved.
