Mrs. Maria Louse Cady Walrath died at her home in this village early Sunday morning. She had been seriously ill for about
a week. Mrs. Walrath was one of the oldest residents of Chittenango and was one of the few direct survivors of the families
which in the past made this village a place of importance and took an active part in affairs. Mrs.. Walrath was born at
Clockville, November 24, 1829. In 1848 she married Daniel Walrath, the ceremony being performed by the Rev. James Abell, a

commented upon the fact that she was one of the few survivors of the older and more active times of Chittenango and said that
in a sense she had practically outlived the whole village.
