Death Claims Miss Moore, Ex-Teacher

New Hartford - Miss Lena D. Moore, whose parents by adoption were proprietors of the land where the Yahnundasis Golf Club is located died yesterday in her home on Clinton Road after a long illness.
She was born in Taberg, daughter of William J. and Lenora Armstrong Moses. When a girl, she was adopted with her sister by George P. and Cornelia Moore, operators of a farm on the outskirts of New Hartford. They lived there until 1907 when the farm land was sold to the golf club and they moved to the present Clinton Road home.
Miss Moore was a school teacher in Oneida County schools for 10 years.
She was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and its Ladies Auxiliary. For 60 years, she was a member of Utica Lodge, 157, Rebekahs.
She leaves a sister, Belle and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral will be at 11 Saturday from the Stevens Funeral Home, 13 Oxford Rd., and from St. Stephen's Church with the Rev. William B. Schmidgall, rector, officiating . Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery.
