DEATH OF JOSEPH H. WALRATH

Joseph H. Walrath died at his home in this village very suddenly about seven o'clock Tuesday evening, of hemorrhage of the lungs. the deceased has been in poor health for several years past, and last winter was dangerously ill but recovered, and the summer found him enjoying comparatively good health. For some weeks past he has been confined to the house and latterly was under the doctor's care. Dr. Eaton had called about an hour previous to his death, and the patient had stated that he desired to vomit and started across the room, when he fell to the floor with the hemorrhage of the lungs and died almost instantly.
Joseph Walrath was one of the old residents of this village. He was in his 70th year, the son of Jacob and Maria Walrath of Montgomery county, and he had been a resident of this village fifty-two years. he was married to Miss Elizabeth Walrath in 1849. She died in November, 1875. he leaves three sons, two residents of Syracuse and one of Chicago. The funeral will be held in the Reformed Church this (Friday) morning at 11 o'clock, Rev. C. O. Thatcher will officiate.
