Death of Mrs. Richard R. Walrath

Mrs. Helen Maria Walrath, widow of the late Richard R. Walrath, died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Theodore W. Burnett, about 5 o'clock Tuesday evening, February 25th. She had been in poor health for several years but was able to be about as usual until three weeks ago when she had a stroke of general paralysis from which she did not recover.
The deceased was born at Trenton Falls, N.Y., but came here with the family when a small girl and this had always been her home; here she had a large circle of friends and was highly respected an esteemed; she was generous and kink hearted woman. Her maiden name was Helen Maria Harbottle. Her husband died December 12, 1897, and since then she has make her home with her sister. She is survived by this sister Mrs. Burnett, and by two brothers, Fred E. Harbottle of Binghamton, and Charles Vassar Harbottle of Syracuse. The deceased was 77 years and two months old.
Private funeral services were held at the house Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. J. Elmer Russell of the Presbyterian church of which the deceased was a member, officiating. Four nephews, Theodore, Fred, Clarence and Clinton Burnett sang at the services and acted as bearers. Interment was made in Oakwood cemetery.
