ROME -- Gordon C. Armstrong, 801 North James St., died Monday in Stonehedge Nursing Home after a long illness.
He was born in Taberg, son of George and Elizabeth Huey Armstrong, and lived most of his life in Rome. He was formerly employed by the Beach Lumber Co. and the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. he married Mildred Spavin 56 years ago. She died in 1941.
Mr. Armstrong was a member of Zion Episcopal Church.
He leaes a son, Everete C. Armstrong of Rome, and two sisters, Mrs. LeRoy (Ruth) Corby of Oriskany, and Mrs. C. R. (Eva) Stagner of Rome.
The funeral will be held Wednesday from the Griffin and Aldridge Funeral Home at a time to be announced. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Taberg.
