
Taberg, July 26. -- The death of Mrs. Catharine Armstrong, widow of Timothy Armstrong, occurred at an early hour this morning, at the home of her son, Alexander. Mrs. Armstrong was born in Martinsburg, Lewis county, eighty-eight years ago. Her entire life was spent in praiseworthy endeavor to faithfully perform all the duties of life and lighten the burdens of those around her. Early in life she united with the M.E. Church and was a true and loyal member thereof. Soon after her marriage she moved to Oneida county, where she had resided for 68 years. Six children were hers, each of whom survives; John and Nelson of Oriskany, Alexander of Taberg, Sydney of Plains, Mrs. William M. Beeman and Mrs. Frank Burnham of Rome. Her husband died four years ago. The latter years of her life were mostly spent at the home of her son, Alexander Armstrong, and from his house, one mile south of Taberg, will be held the funeral on Friday, at 11 a.m.
