Caroline Walrath

Miss Caroline Walrath, a life-long resident of Chittenango and member of one of the oldest families in the town, died at her home in the village at half past nine o'clock, Monday, November fifth. She had been ill with pneumonia. Miss Walrath was born in Chittenango and was the daughter of Daniel and Jane Walrath. She attended school in the Yates Academy, during the historical time when Prof. Velasco was its head. Miss Walrath was a member of the Presbyterian church and as long as health permitted a regular attendant. She was a very kind, sympathetic and thoughtful woman and her wide circle of friends deeply mourn her death and sympathize with her relatives in their sorrow. Miss Walrath is survived by two sisters, Miss Cornelia Walrath and Mrs. Harried Kennedy; also by four nephew: Alfred Walrath of Syracuse, Jesse Walrath of Portland, Ore., Daniel Walrath of Chicago, Ill., D. Wells Walrath of Chittenango; and two nieces, Florence Walrath and Mrs. Anna Woodworth both of Syracuse.
Funeral services were held at the home Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock, Rev. Harris B. Stewart of Auburn conducted the services. Burial was made in Oakwood.
