NEW HARTFORD -- Anthony J. Eck, 87, of 10 Thornwood Rd., New Hartford, passed away Tuesday evening. December 9, 1986, in Sunset Nursing Home, Boonville.

He was born in Utica , August 27, 1899, son of the late Joseph W. and Catherine Knott Eck. He was raised and educated in Utica, was a graduate of St. Joseph's School and later attended Utica School of Commerce. On July 11, 1928, Anthony married Helen Scanlon at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Mrs. Eck died in 1977. For several years, Mr. Eck was employed by the Porter Electric Co. in Utica. He later retired as manager, in 1964, for the Westinghouse Electric Supply Co. in Utica. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, New Hartford. He was also a member of the Westinghouse Retirement Club and a former member of the Yahnundasis Golf Club.

Mr. Eck is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Miss Mary Catherine Eck and Miss Helen T. Eck, both of New Hartford, Margaret Elizabeth (Betty) and John Galletta, of Dewitt; three grandchildren, Miss Maria and Miss Elizabeth Galletta, both of New York City, and Mr. John Anthony Eck Galletta, Dewitt. Mr. Eck was predeceased by two brothers. Stephen and Louis Eck.
